Hi there!

Alejandra Gotera was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1994. She attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, where she attained her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts degree in Studio Art and certificates in Visualization and Design and Art History in 2017. The artist is currently residing in Miami, FL.

Her work aims to attribute a sense of materiality to the intangible. To visualize mental noise resulting from overlapping meta-states (thoughts and feelings generated from previous thoughts and feelings) as a way to free the mind and process inner turmoil.

Alejandra’s mental landscapes, become doorways to sanctuaries for self-exploration. She creates intuitive line-work that flows rhythmically through bright fields of color, hinting at a place of depth and belonging, inviting the viewer to keep up with the flurry of energy always in movement, punctuated by the methodical cadence of never-ending thoughts.
